Taquet Knit

This project, TAQUET-Knit, began with research into cleat history, common foot and ankle injuries, and the specific fit and comfort issues reported by women soccer players—especially tight, blister-causing collars, overly rigid uppers, and limited ankle dorsiflexion that can increase sprain and overuse risk. Building from these findings, I defined functional needs such as a next-to-skin fit, even midfoot pressure, unrestricted ankle ROM, and integrated support to help reduce plantar fasciitis and improve proprioception. The work included a patent and market review, user interview, mood board development, extensive sketch ideation, and iterative prototyping of integrated shin and collar concepts, culminating in the TAQUET-Knit cleat: a sock-like, extended collar design with built-in support zones and a full tech pack and digital render for future development.
