Panathea Peplos

This look reimagines the ancient Panathenaic peplos as a contemporary dress, using hand-dyed terracotta linen, soft pleating, and a custom pomegranate appliqué to honor Athena while exploring modern femininity and drape. Developed for an advanced draping course, the design evolved from a mood board and 47 sketches into a ½-scale drape, full muslin prototype, and final garment, with interior facings and bound seams to protect the loose linen weave and create a smooth, comfortable finish.
